Food is the hardest thing to shoot well and the least forgiving to get wrong. Anandi Productions has been making food films in Mumbai since 2015, for brands including PepsiCo, ITC and Nirali, and we were the production house on the Lay’s Women Farmer campaign for PepsiCo that took a Cannes Lions Silver. Our food work combines macro and tabletop cinematography, high-speed capture, food styling and CGI, all handled by the same team, so the pour, the crunch and the packshot are built to hold up at full screen.

FAQ
What does a food film shoot involve?
A food stylist and a home economist working alongside the camera team, macro and probe lenses, controlled lighting, and usually many takes of the same action. A single hero pour or crunch can take a whole session to get right.
Why do food films cost more per second than other work?
Because the shot count per day is lower. Food has a short window where it looks its best, so you are working with multiple identical prepared portions, a stylist on set, and repeated takes to catch one clean action.
Do you handle food styling as well as the shoot?
Yes. Styling, sourcing and preparation are planned with the shoot rather than bolted on, which is what keeps the food looking right take after take.
Can food be created in CGI instead?
Some of it, and increasingly so. CGI is strong for packaging, product renders and impossible camera moves. Real food still tends to win on texture and steam, so most projects use a mix.
How long does a food film take?
Around 3 to 6 weeks end to end, with 1 to 2 shoot days for a typical product film. High-speed and CGI-heavy work sits at the longer end.
